What is your name and where are you from?
Christopher Grady, Los Angeles via Saint Louis.
What is your trade?
Sound Engineer/Production Manager.
How long have you been doing what you do?
8 Years
Who are you currently on tour with?
Getting ready to go back put here shortly. Took a break to move. Been out with a slew of bands though.
What advice would you give to someone starting out doing what you do?
Gain Structure is one of the most important things to learn. Also take in tricks and tips that are given to you and apply it to your own mix/style. If your mix is sounding great let it ride and enjoy the show. A lot of guys spend so much time fiddling with stuff that by the time they get what they think the best sound of an element of the mix is, the sets over. Also, try and keep solid relationships with other engineers and crew guys and work your ass off. Impress everyone.
Best part of touring?
Learning more about your job, seeing new places and making new friends.
Worst part of touring?
Missing home really. Family, friends or your pets. Oh and missing a majority of baseball season bummed me out last year.
What are you listening to?
Cult of Luna, Junius, Failure, Jeff Buckley, NIN etc.
Any last words?
